Rihanna is calling for a end to gun violence after being forced to say goodbye to her cousin, Tavon Kaiseen Alleyne, the day after Christmas.
News of the shooting broke Tuesday evening when authorities responded to a shooting in the Lakes Close, Eden Lodge, St Michael area of Barbados.
According to Nation News, 21-year-old Tavon Alleyne was “walking through a track in the area of his house when he was approached by a man who shot him multiple times before fleeing the scene.” Investigations say the shooting took place around 7:00 pm.
Devastated by the news, RiRi, who just spent the holiday with her cousin, shared her sorrow through Instagram with a heartfelt post that reads, “Can’t believe it was just last night that I held you in my arms. Never thought that would be the last time I felt the warmth in your body!!! Love you always man … #endgunviolence.”
Another woman named Tanella also shared a heartbreaking post mourning the man she calls her brother.
“I never thought the day would come that I would have to bury you my love , omggg,” Tanella wrote. “Tavon I know you was trying to be a better person!! I loveee you soooo muchhhhhhhhh brother omg!”
The investigation into Tavon’s murder is still underway, and authorities are asking anyone with information to please come forward.
